Yes, it did get painted. I've just been very slow at getting pictures: a) taken, b) resized, c) retaken, d) resized...and it goes on and on. The problem is that the weather has been very dreary and that doesn't make for very good pictures. I like shooting with overcast skies better than in bright sunlight but we've been way beyond overcast. Like I said...dreary.
Here's the garage now...it's darker, to be sure, but with everything painted that color (and the lovely subtle trim), it looks great. And we love it.
You'll remember that we finally hired someone to help us pick colors - and we went with Resort Tan for the body color and Outerbanks for the trim - both Sherwin Williams colors. The difference between the two is subtle...very subtle...which is what we were told we should use. The house is large and contemporary so contrast is a no-no. Or so our designer told us. Anyway, in dreary weather, it's pretty difficult to tell the difference between Resort Tan and Outerbanks. In person, it's easier to see; not so much on a picture.
I'll start with a few pictures of the actual painting day. Fortunately, we were still having good weather. Here's the front entry. The area around the door has already been painted...but it's tough to see that.
Here's one of the painters spraying Resort Tan onto the garage. This gives you an idea of how much darker the new color is from the original color of the house.
Here's a splotch (is that a word?) of the new color on the garage door. We were a bit nervous at this point. Randy and I have never been really great at change.
I've been trying to take pictures from the street and haven't been having much luck with those. When the sun is out, this side of the house is pretty much in a shadow...so it's dark. In the dreariness we've had for the past few weeks, we're all in a shadow...so the house is dark.
Taken even further up the street but still on a dreary day, the house looks chocolate brown. Let me assure you, it's not that dark. It just looks that way. But the trees are pretty, aren't they?

The house looks GREAT! I am now inspired to repaint in 2010!
